IUIU Law Students Urged to Uphold Professionalism

Faculty of Law at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) held a career talk session aimed at guiding and inspiring law students in their academic and professional journeys on Saturday, 14th September 2024.

The Guest of Honor, Counsel Wakou Michael an advocate of the high court and alumnus of IUIU who graduated in 2008 shared his experiences in the legal profession. He encouraged students to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the faculty, as well as to uphold professional ethics.

Counsel Mike also motivated the students by recounting his journey from being a student at IUIU to climbing the ranks of the law profession, encouraging them to be disciplined and focused on their goals.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. AbdulLateef Wale Adeyemo stressed the importance of consistent attendance at lectures and timely completion of coursework. He also highlighted the university’s strict policies on examination malpractice, like discontinuation from the university.

The President of the Law Students' Society Ali Nuru Ali commended the faculty for organizing the event, emphasizing its significance in helping students understand the legal profession better. He highlighted the importance of such interactions in preparing students for the challenges and expectations of their future careers.
