Graduates of the Master of Arts in History program are expected to be open to new ideas yet confident in their own, as well as knowledgeable about African historiography and capable of generating objective professional histories. The primary focus is on ancient African civilizations. The requirements for this MA in history include classes, seminars, and a capstone project. In the first year of enrollment, participants in the Programme are strongly encouraged to engage in open dialogue with teachers and fellow students. Students have two semesters from the time they pass their research proposal project to finish their research, write their thesis, and pass their defense.
Admission into this programme shall follow the general guidelines set by Islamic University in
Uganda. The programme is meant for graduates with holders of Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from public or any recognized chartered Universities by NCHE in the following fields:
