Health Centre

ABOUT US                                     

• Islamic University in Uganda Health Centre is a medical facility established in 1988 as a sickbay within the University.
• It has grown over the years; now registered with the government as a private not-for-profit (PNFP) and also subscribes to the Uganda Muslim Medical Bureau (UMMB)

We work with the following branches of the university as the Health Centre.

1. The main branch is in Mbale where the health facility is located.
2. Female’s campus clinic in Kabojja (Natete)
3. Kampala campus students clinic at IUIU Kampala campus in Kibuli
4. Lastly, Habib Medical School laboratory is still at our Kampala campus in Kibuli.

 

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Health Facility is situated at the university’s main campus in Mbale with the following departments

These Include:

1. Male And Female Wards
2. Laboratory
3. Immunization Room
4. Labor Ward with postnatal.
5. Minor Theatre
6. Out Patient department
7. Private in-patient rooms
8. An Ambulance

 

Services Offered

We Currently Offer a Range Of Services Ranging From Outpatients to Patients Services, Including But Not Limited to;

1. Laboratory Services

The Lab services conducted in our lab include

1. Testing of various samples
2. Microscopy examination of blood urine and other samples.
3. Hematology analysis
4. Treatment and Management of Common Diseases
5. Immunization Services both Static and Outreach Programs
6. Anti-Natal Services For Mothers
7. Maternity Services
8. Referrals with a Standby Ambulance for both Students and People in the Community.
9. Community Outreach Programs Include:
10. Health Education to students and community
11. House Hold Health
12. Antenatal Services
13. School Outreaches
14. Mass Immunization Campaigns
15. Organize Medical And Surgical Camps
16. Screening Of Sickle Cell
17. Safe Male Circumcision smc
18. Hepatitis B Screening And Vaccination
19. Cervical and breast cancer screening among others.
