Chairman of Dimensions for Strategic Studies meets Rector

The Chairman of "Dimensions for Strategic Studies", a think tank based in London with offices in Istanbul, Turkiye, Mr Muhammad Sarmini with Senior Researcher Dr Mohammed Alfaki have visited the Rector of Islamic University in Uganda, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda at Kampala Campus.
They were accompanied by their hosts in Uganda, led by the DVC, Academics, Research, Innovation and Internationalization of Kampala University, Dr Wardah Rajab-Gyagenda who introduced them and indicated that they want to link with the Government to address the refugee plight in Uganda.
The think tank is in Uganda at the invitation of Kampala University and they are interested in collaborating with Universities, the Government of Uganda and Civil Societies so that research/data-based solutions for challenges facing refugees and their hosting communities can be appropriately addressed.
Prof. Gyagenda welcomed them to IUIU and gave them a brief on the unique history and status of IUIU as the only inter-governmental International University in Uganda. He assured them of maximum cooperation regarding their noble mission.
Mr Sarmini, originally from Syria, said the think tank wants to expand its work from Turkiye to Uganda, Sudan and Pakistan, nations carrying the heaviest burden of hosting refugees in the world.
In attendance were the Executive Director of the Organization for Afrixan Social Development (OASD) Mr Muhammad Ahmad Musa, his Assistant Abdulrahman Faisal, and RAVASA Foundation ED Ms Hadija Rajab, who has extensive experience in working with Refugees and their communities.
