DAWAH COMMITTEE HOLDS FIRST CAPICITY BUILDING WORKSHOP

  • 15th March, 2019 12:00am

The Islamic university in Uganda Dawah and Community liaison committee have held their first capacity building workshop aimed at building the knowledge and strategic planning capacity of the members.

The one day workshop held at the university Boardroom on 15th march 2019 attracted both committee members and other university staffs

Professor Ssekamanya Siraj; a senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and also a committee member while giving his reactions during the workshop encouraged the incorporation of both spiritual and service delivery while executing Dawah activities.

The senior Educationist and the University Administrator in charge of International Relations pointed out that many people tend to shy away from Dawah practitioners because they are not directly involved.

“Some people will tend to run away from the words of Allah but if you directly involve them in an activity, the bond you will create as a Dawah practitioner with them will help the massage of Allah easily sink into them” he explained.

The University student’s coordinator Dr. Sulait Kabali who also doubles as the Chairman of Dawah and Ccommunity liaison committee emphasized the need for patience while executing Da’wa activities.

“By nature, we learn and respond to things differently, so as a Da’awa member, one needs to practice the highest level of patience by taking his or her taking time while dealing with people” Dr. kabali stated.

Speaking Mr. Sekalema Hamza one of the lead organizers, he revealed that this is one of a series of similar workshop that the university Da’wah body intends to organize.

“We intend to have this workshop at a monthly basis because this will give us a chance to deliberate on our challenges as Dawah heads and find solutions to them” Mr. Sekalema added.
