Director of Basaier Organisation visits IUIU

The Islamic University in Uganda hosted Dr. Emad Bin Yusif a director of Basaier a charitable organization based in Kuwait on 05th August 2024 at the main campus in Mbale. 

The delegation led by Dr. Emad included Sheikh Mwata Hassan Muhammad and Bruhan A.K., accompanied by the Director of Endowment at IUIU Dr. Hatim E-Amin, were received by the Vice-Rector in charge of Academic Affairs Dr Jamil Serwanga and the Academic Registrar, Dr. Halima Wakabi Akbar.

Dr Jamil extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an insightful overview of the University's historical journey from its humble beginnings with eighty students and one Faculty, to currently housing eight Faculties and more than ten thousand students, with plans to inaugurate the ninth Faculty of Engineering and Technology in December 2024.

He also highlighted the University's commitment to supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds and discussed the necessity of securing support from organizations to facilitate these students' access to higher education.

Dr Halima thanked the esteemed visitors for their unwavering support of the Muslim communities. She also urged the visitors to avail of scholarships in the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language, to increase enrolment, the founding faculty of the University

Dr. Emad Bin Yusif expressed his delight in visiting IUIU and Shedding Light on the organization’s history and objectives, particularly emphasizing its pivotal role in supporting education for driving impactful community development.

Through the deliberations from the visit, both IUIU and Basaier agreed to develop A comprehensive visibility study of various projects and appoint a dedicated focal person within IUIU to monitor and follow up on the development initiatives effectively.
