Islamic University in Uganda Holds Dean's Orientation Event

The Islamic University in Uganda recently held a Dean's Orientation program on Monday 22 July 2024 at the main campus in Mbale.

The event was organized by the office of the Academic Registrar, to brief the new Deans on their assignments, deliberate on the improvement of the quality of education, service, and welfare of Deans across faculties.

The Deans discussed strategies to enhance academic standards and addressed the challenges currently facing the faculties and expressed their commitment to finding solutions to these challenges to ease their work and improve the overall academic experience with support from the university administration.

The Academic Registrar Dr. Halima Wakabi Akbar, urged the Deans to embrace their responsibilities with dedication. She assured them of the administration's support in tackling the issues at hand and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve the university's goals.

The Rector IUIU Associate Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, pledged full support from the university administration highlighting its commitment to improving staff welfare citing the ongoing program to offer loans for staff to purchase personal cars.

He also encouraged the deans to fulfill their responsibilities diligently to ensure the institution's continuous progress.
