IUIU and Pioneer Speed Hospital Sign Memorandum of Understanding
The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pioneer Speed Hospital during a ceremony held yesterday, 9th April 2022 at the hospital's premises in Mbale City.
Speaking during the ceremony, IUIU Rector Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda pledged to collaborate with the hospital in several ways to benefit IUIU staff, students and the country at large.
"IUIU is ready to work with Pioneer Speed Hospital to benefit IUIU community and Uganda. I have discovered that this hospital has medical specialists that are ready to serve the community. Let's join hands to make this a reality," he said.
Professor Gyagenda said IUIU has a Faculty of Health Sciences that is ready to work with the hospital in several activities such as, medical outreach camps and health fairs.
"IUIU has Habib Medical School at Kampala Campus and School of Nursing based at Main Campus here in Mbale. These medical students are ready to work with this hospital in several initiatives that we can plan and implement jointly such as medical outreach camps to help the community," the Rector stressed.
In his remarks, Pioneer Speed Hospital Director Dr. Ahmed Hassan commended the Islamic University in Uganda for the partnership.
"I am happy that we have finally agreed to work together. Our hospital is looking forward to working with IUIU in various projects that are aimed at serving the people. We have medical specialists that are ready to serve the citizenry," Dr Hassan said.
Pioneer Speed Hospital has medical specialists such as dentists, pediatricians and gynaecologists from Uganda, Algeria, Egypt among other countries.
