IUIU Females Stallions Loses To KCCA Leopards In Friendly Match.

In a campaign to equip students with skills, Islamic university in Uganda, females’ campus with a focus on nurturing students’ talents in sports and other co-curricular activities has gained light.  In the game played on Tuesday 1st November 2022 at the female’s campus basketball courts, KCCA leopards beat IUIU females’ stallions 103 points on 7 points

The big lead was a giant challenge for IUIU female stallions. Despite a smart win for KCCA Leopards in all quarters, the stallions held their breath and their muscles were still wrestling with the leopards. The first point for IUIU females’ stallions was made by their team captain Mirembe Lorna kawala in the second last quarter.

Addressing the marketing and public relations team, the director Islamic university in Uganda females’ campus-kabojja Dr. Madina Nabukeera Ssebyala commended the girls for standing tall in their first game playing with experienced ladies. She pledged support to the team and promised to renovate the courts to make it easy for the girls to play on a safe court. In the same spirit, the head coach for IUIU females’ stallions Mr. Edris R highlighted his concerns to the media that he is building a team from scratch and promised to make Islamic university in Uganda females campus a home for basketball talents in two years to come. He appreciated the administration for supporting his stallions regardless of the gradual improvement. He also advised the team to work hard to achieve and gain from the game. In the team talk session after the game, Ms. Lynn KCCA leopard’s coach preached discipline, consistency, and listening to instructions from the trainers among other major basketball values are key in learning, relearning, and mastering the game.

The Female’s campus does not only host basketball but it has a good football pitch which is famously used for training by Uganda Cranes, FUFA, and Wakiso Giants, a standard swimming pool used to host swimming competitions in the country, volleyball courts, wood ball, and very many indoor games.

Islamic university in Uganda female’s campus-kabojja is situated at kabojja, Wakiso district. It was initially intended to run day, evening, and weekend programs. However, since its inception, the campus is still running day and weekend programs and all run on the semester programs. The rationale for establishing a females’ campus was to increase access to higher education for female students from Uganda and other English-speaking African countries, to create a conducive environment that will lead to more successful completion rates and participation by female students, and also as a core value of Islam of as much as possible creating separate environments for females. The Females’ campus is strategically located in Wakiso district, just 1.5km away from Ñatete town off Nakawuka road.
