Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

The Islamic university in Uganda was privileged to host a workshop for institutions in the eastern region on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022 organized by national council for higher education.
The invited members were trained on how use the integrated management information system (IMIS). IMIS is an online digital system that enables stakeholders to interface with NCHE E-services like accreditation of programmes.
Addressing heads of academics and ICT departments via zoom, the deputy executive director NCHE Alex Kagume on behalf of the executive director encouraged the institutions to embrace the technology in order to efficiently benefit from the services.
The rector Islamic university in Uganda prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, commended NCHE for developing the system as intuitions are going to find it easier to interact with national council for higher education.
Prof Gyagenda also encouraged the institutions to work together in order to steer the country forward in terms of provided excellent services in academics ‘’do not hesitate to approach IUIU for assistance in terms of research and other services, our doors are open.’’ the rector said.
Institutions that participated in the workshop include Islamic university in Uganda, LIU, Soroti university, NESDA Uganda technical school and others.
