Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

The Islamic university in Uganda is hosting the 14th Uganda Deans Students Forum (UDSF 2023) at its main campus in Mbale city.
This year’s conference is organized under the theme “management of students in the digital era” and will last three days from Wednesday 15th of March up to Friday 17 march 2023.
The Rector was represented by, Dr Jamil Sserwanga the vice Rector in charge of academics and while giving his opening remarks called upon the deans of students from universities all over Uganda to mark a follow-up about the students that will help them have the ability to understand them.
“As deans of students, we have a mandate, as your, there try to work together with the regulators such that you can counsel our students in what they do. Through such as how we can generate projects which the Civil societies can sponsor.”
He also urged the Deans of students to prepare the students to fit in the competitive trend through joint research, creativity, and integration for excellence.
“Let us try to understand our students, this will help us in the preparation of our students to fit in the competitive trend, so let us continue to encourage the joint research, and mentorship of leaders because when our students go out after graduation, they can stand on their own as leaders.”
The conference has brought together different universities in Uganda Lecturers together with students leaders from various universities in Uganda St Lawrence University, Gulu University, Lira, Uganda Christian University, Busitema and many others have joined efforts to fight the rising vice of homosexuality that has become rampant in the country.
