Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

IUIU main campus faculty of law had its annual law dinner on Sunday the 24th day of March 2024. The guest of honour was Honourable Nantaba Aidah Elio, a Woman Member of Parliament Kayunga District who is the Former State Minister for ICT and also a former State Minister for Lands, she emphasized that lawyers need to have human hearts when dealing with cases of the vulnerable people.
The following people also graced the occasion; The Secretary General Uganda Muslim Supreme Council who is also one of the members of the IUIU Appointments Committee of the University Council, Mr. Kisambira Titus M who is a member of the Public Service Commission, the Regional Police Commander Elgon region, Divisional Police Commander, and the Human Resource/Legal Officer Uganda Police and the legal advisor Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
The annual law dinner aims to give the students career guidance, acts as a networking platform, enables us to bid our finalists a splendid farewell, and brings closure to all our co-curricular activities of the academic year.
The event's theme was mastering the art and realism of the legal profession as a tool for steering societal change.
All the guest speakers and the AG Dean faculty of law Ms Nagadya Hamidah emphasized the significance of ensuring justice for all and that it is the responsibility of everyone.
The Acting Dean of Law extends her appreciation to the Rectorship, all the Lecturers in the Faculty of Law, the National Resistance Movement National Treasurer, Mr. Kisambira Titus M a member of the Public Service Commission, Assoc. Professor Tindifa, Mr. Masaba Simon Peter a senior state attorney in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Mr. Matanda Abubaker a Magistrate Grade 1, Mr. Mugisha Ismail, and all the other stakeholders of the university for the support they gave to the Faculty of Law. "And as for our students, keep making us proud, IUIU, Faculty of Law keeps blossoming because of your endless efforts", the Dean commented.
