Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

Islamic University in Uganda has secured five scholarships from Elnilein University in Sudan.
The scholarships were secured during a visit to Sudan by the IUIU vice-rector in charge of finance prof Abdul kaziba Mpaata accompanied by the Dean Faculty of Agri-Business Prof. Dr Mohamedel Nour Taha Ahmed on behalf of the Rector.
The delegates from IUIU attended the inter-African university council meeting in which IUIU is a member, signed new MOUS as well as renewed previously signed ones with other universities on behalf of the rector.
The new MOUS are to create a binding relationship with universities like West Kordofan and Kordofan University and renewed MOUS with universities like Gezira University, Ahfad Women’s University Sudan, Sudan University of Science and Technology, and Khartoum University.
The MOUs will enable staff development, staff exchange, student exchange joined projects, teaching, and capacity development between IUIU and other universities.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agri-Business IUIU Prof. Abdul Nour Taha says the MOUS with Sudan universities will enable further development of Agribusiness faculty at Islamic University in Uganda.
Prof. Mohamedel Nour added that IUIU expects a visit from the vice-chancellors from the Sudanese universities and experts in poultry and greenhouses have also been invited to IUIU.
While presenting a report about their visit to the rector, Prof. Abdul Kaziba said the scholarships include two at a PhD level and three at the master’s level.
Prof. Abdul also received an award from the vice president of Sudan. During their visit, the Rector commended the Professors for the fruitful representation of IUIU.
