IUIU’S 29th GRADUATION CEREMONY SLATED FOR 27TH MARCH 2021

Islamic University in Uganda has set Saturday 27th March 2021 as the date for its 29th graduation ceremony.

According to the University Academic registrar Dr. Halima Wakabi Akbar, 1200 students are expected to graduate in this 2nd virtual (online) ceremony that will take place at the IUIU Females Campus Kabojja.

Dr. Halima revealed that for one to graduate, he or she must have fulfilled all Academic requirements, paid graduation fees, and cleared all other University dues before 19th March 2021.

“Graduation fees for undergraduate is UGX.313000 /US$ 100 and Masters and Postgraduate Diploma UGX 375000/US$ 110 and Ph.D. UGX 785000/ US$ 220 exclusive of bank charges” Dr. Halima stated.

She pointed out that Postgraduate students must have submitted the error-free bound thesis by 19th March to be included on the graduation list. Dr. Halima revealed that Students should pick their gowns on 24th March 2021 from their Campuses.

“Students from Main Campus Mbale and Arua campus who wish to collect graduation gowns from King Fahad Plaza Liaison Office on Kampala Road should have registered their request with the Office of the Academic Registrar by Wednesday 17th March 2021. No gowns will be sent without clearance of graduation fee and all University fees” she added.

While giving the guidelines to be followed during the ceremony amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Academic registrar said that only students who will receive invitation cards will be allowed at the graduation venue. She further stressed the need for all persons invited and physically present at the ceremony to observe the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) on COVID-19.

IUIU’s 1st virtual graduation ceremony that saw over 850 students graduate was held on 30th December 2020 and was broadcasted live on NBS TV, streamed on zoom, Microsoft team, and all the University Social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
