UNESCO Celebrates 60 Years of Existence in Uganda

The 60th anniversary of UNESCO's establishment was commemorated on September 21, 2023, in Uganda, at Speake Resort Munyonyo. During the event, the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) was assigned the responsibility of serving as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the occasion, in its capacity as Uganda's tertiary seat for UNESCO. Honorable Lukia Nakayama served as the Chief Guest on behalf of His Excellency General Museveni. It was a prestigious opportunity for the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) to assume the role of the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at the event.

The feedback received suggested that IUIU was commended for effectively executing this mission. Furthermore, the representative of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) was honored with an accolade in recognition of their exceptional contribution to representing Uganda in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) since 2013.
